Jayson Hamrick
Experience
Jayson joined Bailey, Javins & Carter in 2024 and focuses his practice on deliberate intent, workplace injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and negligence cases. His areas of focus range from coal mining accidents, trucking accidents and medical malpractice cases, to products liability, construction, and commercial shipping personal injury cases.
Jayson graduated from West Virginia University College of Law in 2019 and then began his career as an insurance and corporate defense lawyer where he specialized in deliberate intent, workplace injury, and wrongful death actions. Through his experience as a civil defense attorney, Jayson acquired detailed knowledge of the defense strategy relied upon by insurance companies and corporate entities. He now utilizes this insight to help individuals who have been wrongfully injured by other entities and people.
He is a native West Virginian originally from Elkins, West Virginia. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University in 2015 with his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law studies. In 2016, he received his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management from Fairmont State University. Jayson then went on to attend West Virginia University College of Law where he graduated in 2019 with his J.D. While in law school, he was a member of the College of Law’s National Moot Court Competition Team and awarded membership in the Order of Barristers based upon his oral advocacy skills.
While in school, he was highly involved in student government and numerous community service organizations. During law school, Jayson was a member of Moot Court and a member of the school’s National Moot Court Competition Team. He was selected as a member of the Order of the Barristers for his oral advocacy skills. He worked in the Veteran Advocacy Clinic program during his final year of law school where he represented veterans from across West Virginia in a variety of cases.
In addition to his professional activities, Jayson enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and household full of pets. He is an avid golfer and automotive racing enthusiast.
